The partnership has been allocated a grant to support the “all young people” element of the partnership.
The grant is will provide four physical activity programmes targeted at specific groups.
Physical Activity:
- Boost self-esteem
- Improve health and well being
- Improve behaviour
- Improve social skills
- Be used as a platform for personal and social development
- Improve attendance
- Raise aspirations
Initiative One - KS3 Literacy, a physical literacy breakfast club. Students will participate in 20 minutes of physical activities of their choice, followed by a nutritious breakfast and finally 20 minutes of literacy work.
Initiative Two – KS4 Health/Beauty, an 8 week OSHL club to link health and beauty advice to a physical activity programme.
Initiative Three – KS1 Multi Skills, this is a home and school initiative, a multi skills club will develop fundamental motor skills (FMS) and improve levels of physical literacy. The club will be supported by activity bags and resource cards and basic equipment to practice FMS at home.
Initiative Four - Active Playtimes, KS1/2 will be offered structured playground using a zone park scheme.
